Sailing Networking Reception 7 September 2011 in Aberdeen

During this year's Offshore Europe, an international exploration and production event for the global oil and gas industry, a unique reception was held in honour of the Anglo-Dutch connection. The Sailing Networking Reception took place in celebration of the long-lasting relationship between the two countries. The location was the tall ship Stad Amsterdam, a proud example of Dutch craftsmanship combined with state of the art technologies, which set sail from Aberdeen in Scotland.

This reception proved to be a very successful sequel to the well-received UK-NL Strategic Dialogue Conference in Cambridge held last January.

In his speech Ambassador Mr Pim Waldeck acknowledged that the reception ''is a follow-up on our exciting programme which we hope will help both Dutch and British businesses to discover and embrace untapped opportunities to face our shared challenges in the future''.

The reception was made possible/sponsored by AMPORTS, IJmond Veelzijdig, Port of Amsterdam, CMF Central Mudplant & Fluid Services, ASCO Nederland, IJmuiden Seaport, Shipdock Amsterdam and the Municipality of Velsen.
