Visa section - appointments / opening times

Please note that the visa section in London and most consulates operate an appointment system for visa applications.

A limited number of appointments is available at the visa section of the Embassy. An appointment at the visa section can be be made on working days between 10:00-12:00 by calling telephone number: 020 7590 3200. Please ensure that you have your passport number ready when calling the embassy for an appointment.

To submit a visa application at one of the Netherlands consulates in the UK please contact the consulate directly for an appointment.

Please note that appointments should be booked well in advance in the run-up to busy periods (especially Easter, summer and Christmas holidays) as the next available appointment may be several weeks away.
 
In general, an application, once accepted by the Embassy after prior appointment, takes 15 calender days working days. Maximum omission time is 4 weeks. Submission and collection of the application is performed in person.
In some cases, the processing time may be longer.
Please make sure your (mobile) number is clearly mentioned on the application form in case we need to contact you for further information.
 
The following categories are invited to apply for a visa without an appointment on working days between 9:00 - 10:00am:
  1. Diplomatic passport holders with a Note Verbal mentioning the professional purpose and duration of stay in the Netherlands, fax message from the inviting organisation in the Netherlands mentioning the purpose and  duration of stay;
  2. Provisional sojourn visa's (MVV: Machtiging Voorlopig Verblijf);
  3. Orange carpet members;
  4. Courier applicants;
  5. Alien nationals living in the Netherlands who lost their residence permit for the Netherlands (keep in mind that you application is sent to the Immigration Service (IND) who will take a decision, time frame: 7 working days).
The visa section is closed to the public every first and third Wednesday of the month. In addition, the visa section will be closed on the following days.
